Eventual, Emotional, and Economic Change

The ever-transforming world continues to change everyday and as a result of this we are forced to continually adjust to otherwise ordinary activities. Change in itself is inevitable. As a child, I grew up in a world filled with Barney, Barbies, and Britney Spears.

I lived a problem free life that was filled with endless amounts of beauty. Starting as a young child I found pleasure in watching quality television shows such as Sesame Street and Barney. Several years later I found true love in the music of Britney Spears. Bubble-Pop music was definitely was a staple of my childhood, and attending a Britney concert added a new spark of excitement into my life. Still living in a world of bliss, I attended a private school, I participated in nearly all athletic sporting events, and turned the phrase shop till you drop into a bona fide statement. As I matured into a full-fledged high school student, I discovered that not everything is always so perfect. I learned when the time is to be studious, I changed into a more outgoing person, and I also found that the world is not as sheltered and perfect as I once thought it was. At the age of 17 the economy took a large turn for the worse. Several families I knew found themselves struggling to get by and they worked hard to find the money to send their children to college. I finally realized exactly how realistic the economic problems were when a friend told me that she and her twin sister had to pick their college solely off price because their parents could no longer afford to support them. Several of my relatives lost their jobs. My family is lucky; the economy has affected only the stocks that my parents held large shares in. They are both employed and both my brother and I are able to attend respectable schools. From Barney to Bankruptcy, my generation has experienced some of the most drastic changes since the Great Depression.
